The firm is a family-owned business that operates within the construction industry in the Drakenstein area and has been in existence for the last 34 years.
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced financial professional with a passion for navigating the complexities of the construction-related market to join the team.
The Financial Manager will play a critical role in the operations, management and the streamlining of systems while assisting with the companys growth and profitability.
Position Available: Finance & Admin Manager Department and location: Finance Department (Office based) Reporting to: Owner and General Manager Starting date: 3 February 2025 (or soonest) Probation Period (Full pay): 3 Months Minimum qualification required: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance SAICA / SAIPA Articles completed Preferred qualifications required: Newly Accredited CA(SA) Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (Honours) AGA (SA) / Professional Accountant (SA) Minimum relevant experience required: 3-5 years relevant experience in a financial management position or similar.
Previous experience within construction related industries will be beneficial.
Experience with Quantity Surveying practices will be beneficial.
Computer Literacy (systems/programs): Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.)
XERO Accounting Simple Pay Payroll Advanced general computer literacy.
Skills required: Bilingual strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans Previous experience in a small team environment Strong work ethic Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong analytical skills Excellent interpersonal skills Well organized, with excellent administrative skills Must have a service-focused can-do attitude Honest, trustworthy and reliable Key Responsibilities (Full financial function but not limited to): Financial Strategy and Planning Financial Reporting (Management accounts) Cash Flow Management Tax Planning and Compliance Financial Controls and Policies Compliance and Legal Matters Technology and Systems Month-end processes Creditor & debtor management Statutory submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.)
All statutory & regulatory reports and submissions Insurance policies and claims Utilities management Contract management Payroll management Rental / lease agreements Statistical surveys and reports Additional administrative duties as required Other Requirements: Valid Code B drivers license Good supervisory, interpersonal and communication skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good experience in managing a finance team.
Knowledge of the XERO accounting, Simple Pay package is essential Risk mitigation in terms of finances, processing and department High level of ethics and integrity
