Financial Aid Officer: NSFAS: X 2 positions, Finance Department (Internal only) Two (2) year contracts - (7549)Job Purpose: To administer NSFAS funding, pre-funders and NSFAS SETA's, ensuring that funds are administered according to NSFAS guidelines, funder's criteria, and institutional policies and procedures.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Two (2) years administrative experience in the administration of financial aid.Knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures.Knowledge of ITS.Required to work overtime during peak times or as and when required.Recommendation: A National Diploma in Business Studies (3-year qualification) or equivalent qualification.Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities: Administration of NSFAS funding and other Bursaries.Assisting students with Financial Aid to register (Financial Clearance).Ensuring that records are kept up to date and accurately filed for quick referencing and audit purposes.Extracting data, compiling and processing NSFAS funding and perform assessments.Crediting of student's fee account and reconciliations.Participate in orientation and open day sessions.Processing of allowances to the students.Confirming validity and integrity of documents.Provide support to Senior Financial Aid Officers.Liaise with donors, staff, students, and other stakeholders.General administrative duties which include filing, maintaining filing system, and any tasks related to the operations of the office (ad hoc) assigned by the line manager.Good communication skills (verbal and written).Good interpersonal skills.Computer literacy (ITS, Outlook, Excel, and Word).Applied knowledge of ITS.Knowledge of financial aid policies, rules, and regulations.Exposure to working under pressure with strict adherence to deadlines.Contribution to team success.Initiating action.Learner/client focus.General Information: Closing date: 17 November 2024.
