Job DescriptionOne of the largest integrated fruit and logistics businesses in the country, which is part of a larger and integrated group, is looking to employ a financial and management accountant. There is an option to join them at any of three locations in Limpopo – Ohrigstad, Tzanee, or Hoedspruit.The ideal candidate must have an accounting qualification and at least 5 years' experience in an accounting and finance role. Post articles experience in a commerce-related role would be a definite benefit. Completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles will be a distinct advantage and knowledge of ERP systems (Navision, Business Central, or similar) will be a positive. Industry experience in agriculture, farming, citrus, fruit, export, or related will also be an advantage, though not a pre-requisite.We are looking for a resilient self-starter, capable of taking initiative, working on their own and as part of a team. Someone that is not scared to roll up their sleeves and do the groundwork, accounting, system implementations, automations, system improvements, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for personal growth as well as growth within this expanding business.Purpose of the position:Supports the packhouses and farms by ensuring that the appropriate financial control systems and accounting procedures are effectively implemented in packhouses and farms. Ensure all systems within the packhouses and farms comply with the appropriate financial governance, accounting standards and organisational policies and procedures. Guarantee compliance with IFRS, SARS, the Companies Act and any other regulatory/legislative requirement applicable to the company and its operations while simultaneously providing support to the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensures transactions are supported by appropriate documentation, are captured accurately and in a timely manner into the system.Ensures integrity of accounting records by adherence to policies, procedures and internal controls, as well as providing recommendations for improvement.Managing the packhouses and farms' balance sheets and accounting books.Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.Prepare and complete internal cost audits.Comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for financial statements.Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.Maintains financial security by following internal controls.Load all bank payments for packhouses and farms.Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.Preparation of monthly financials.Focus on tax compliance, state business registration, contract review, and non-profit tax filing.Complete and submit VAT returns.Ensure all finance filing is up to date and accurate.Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management.Qualifications and Experience:BCom Accounting, Financial Management or similar.CIMA, SAIPA, or SAICA articles completed.Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Microsoft Business Central experience (Advantageous).Advanced Excel with knowledge.Agriculture or Citrus industry experience beneficial.Ability to work under pressure.Communicate in a professional manner.High attention to detail.Ability to function independently.Innovative thinker.Organizational skills.Ability to build credible relationships with internal and external clients.Ability to maintain discipline in the workplace.Remuneration:R360,000 to R480,000 pa cost to company, depending on experience.
