Financial Accountant – Rkfa

Main job function Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with company policies and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP). Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Analyze financial performance and report on variances, including cost analysis and profitability trends. Provide insights on budget variances and suggest corrective actions. General Ledger Management: Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification of financial transactions. Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable/receivable, and other relevant accounts. Ensure the integrity of financial data through proper documentation and controls. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Provide management with detailed reports and insights to help guide operational and strategic decisions. Monitor budget performance and recommend adjustments when necessary. Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and financial regulations applicable to the mining industry. Assist in the preparation of tax returns, VAT submissions, and other regulatory filings. Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary financial data and documentation. Supply Chain Finance Support: Collaborate with the supply chain team to manage financial aspects of procurement, vendor payments, and logistics expenses. Evaluate and recommend process improvements to optimize supply chain costs and financial controls. Risk Management & Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets. Identify potential financial risks and propose mitigation strategies. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, procurement, HR) to ensure financial alignment with operational activities. Provide support and mentorship to junior accounting staff. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, or CIMA) preferred. Criteria 5-10 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within the mining and supply chain industries. Strong background in cost accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting.
