As the Financial Accountant for APAC, you will manage the region's financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements, and delivering accurate financial reporting.
Your responsibilities include overseeing the monthly close process, preparing financial schedules, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations, as well as handling intercompany invoicing, asset register coding, and aged creditor monitoring.
Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the relationship with external auditors, prepare audit deliverables, and ensure compliance with regulatory and tax authorities.
As a trusted banking authoriser, you will maintain strong banking controls and manage relationships with banking partners.
The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified or finalist ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent, with strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and experience in the hospitality or travel industry.
As this role works with APAC counterparts, an ability to understand mandarin is necessary.
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to meet tight deadlines, are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities: Periodic Financial Analysis and Reporting Perform the monthly close process for APAC.
This includes preparation of monthly schedules, journals and analytical review.  Balance sheet reconciliation including schedules for Assets, Payroll, Tax among others Statutory and Management reporting for APAC.
Review of Consumption and Income Tax returns before submission by local accountants.
Monthly closure of bank including reconciliation and revaluations.
Perform Intercompany invoicing and reconciliations.
Coding and maintaining the Asset registers and monthly accounting of depreciation.
Own and oversee all Prepayments and Accruals.
Ownership of the Account Payable- invoices, authorisations, payments, receipts, cost centres etc.
Monitoring of Aged Creditors Supporting Ops teams by providing necessary reports and analysis Assist in yearly audit queries with external auditors Accounts Payable Processing AP invoices as they are received Generate weekly pay runs schedules for suppliers to be paid Update Cash Flow with weekly pay runs that has been approved Communicate with suppliers on queries  Audit & Compliance  Reporting and compliance with regulatory and Tax authorities, and our travel licensing & bonding associations.
Preparation of Statutory documents as necessary  Taking a lead on local Audits and liaising with auditors  Preparing audit deliverables to deadlines and assisting in Group audits Cashflow Reporting Improving and maintaining the cash flow for the relevant business entities.
Contributing to delivering APAC Cash Flash on working day 1 of the month-end process.
Ensuring the banking controls are adhered to, uploading or authorising payments as needed- The role needs to be a Trusted banking authoriser.
Being the point of contact for our banking partners with the support of the FC.
Other Responsibilities Supporting Head of Accounting on projects and tasks.
Supporting Ops teams by providing necessary reports and analysis.
Working closely and supporting local management and business.
Business partnering with the global finance team and wider business.
Any other tasks and projects required by the wider finance team, on an ad-hoc basis.
Requirements Your Profile:  Qualifications: Newly Qualified - ACCA, CIMA, ACA or Equivalent Ability to understand mandarin Skills Outstanding analytical and mathematical skills Deliver to tight deadlines, for example, month end closures.
Respect confidentiality that comes with responsibility.
Proficient in Excel.
Self-motivation, excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
An analytical mind, a keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
Experience in a hospitality/travel industry is preferred.
Previous experience in handling accounting and reporting within APAC.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (Previously Navision) is highly beneficial.
