Position Overview: The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting up to the trial balance stage.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities: Financial Transactions Management: Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and timely.
Ensure all financial transactions comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare adjusting entries as necessary.
Month-end Close Activities: Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare and review trial balances to ensure accuracy.
Generate financial statements for review by management.
Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
Identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Prepare financial reports and summaries as required.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
Prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.
Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and procedures.
Implement best practices to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification preferred.
Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role, with expertise in managing financial transactions up to trial balance.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
