A well known company in the hospitality, hotel and leisure industry is looking for a Financial Accountant to be based in Polokwane.
Job Purpose Responsible for the effective management of financial controls, reporting and accounting team management with specific regard to achieving business profitability and improving financial operational standards in the hospitality areas of Food & Beverage and hotel rooms.
Education B.Com Honours (CTA) with ArticlesExperience: At least 5 years experience in a general financial management environment.Experience in a hospitality/gaming environment an advantage.Skills and Knowledge Analysing / Diagnosing performance of the departmentReviewing - Assessing feasibility; assessing compliance; efficienciesAppraising / Developing Others including evaluating for recruitment, performance, coaching and trainingKnowledge of statutory legal and tax requirementsStrong technical knowledge including IFRS developmentsStrong knowledge of accounting systemsKeep abreast of new developments in the financial and tax fieldsKey Performance Areas: Oversee the recording of financial transactions and reporting for F&B and hotel outlets on the property to ensure the financial performance and position of the company is accurate, up-to-date and complete.Monitor and manage productivities and payroll costs for the departmentsOversee the completion of stock control processes.Integrates Group standards into Unit OperationsAlign and update practices with new legislative and tax regulationsImplement sufficient control measures (including systems and processes) & checks within each department to mitigate any financial risk to the business.Co-ordinate internal and external financial auditsAnnual financial statementsFinancial reporting on departmental projects and initiativesCompile tax and quarterly board packsManage staff conditions of employment, e.g.
