A retail company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team.
In this role, you will play a key part in managing and overseeing the organizations financial health.
As a Financial Accountant , you will responsible for the following: Ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records, complying with local accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Manage the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are classified correctly.
Reconcile accounts and swiftly resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain and optimize the chart of accounts, recommending improvements as needed.
Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and KPIs, offering insights and actionable recommendations to management.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to aid in strategic decision-making and planning.
Collaborate with internal teams, including finance and department heads, to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
Support external audits and ensure regulatory compliance by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance financial operations' efficiency and effectiveness.
Job Experience and Skills Required: Completed BCom in Finance Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles Minimum 1 - 2 years post-articles experience If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly.
