Job Description:
A client based in the northern suburbs is urgently looking for a detail-oriented, efficient and self-motivated to join a motivated and energetic team of finance specialists on a 3-month contract basis. The Financial Accountant is responsible for maintaining the companys financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Full Financial Function
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards.
Conduct monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts.
Manage and process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Cash Flow Management
Monitor and manage daily cash flow requirements to ensure sufficient liquidity.
Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Compare actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights.
Payment Processing
Process payments accurately and timely through various banking portals.
Ensure compliance with payment authorization protocols and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all payment transactions.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.
Assist with the preparation of year-end audit files and liaise with auditors during the audit process.
Systems and Software Management
Use Xero for financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliations.
Optimize usage of Xero by automating processes and maintaining system integrity.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure adherence to tax regulations, including VAT submissions and statutory compliance.
Identify and mitigate financial risks related to operational and payment processes.
As you will be required to hit the ground running extensive experience is essential.
The requirements:
Qualification:
Completed a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience:
Minimum of 3 working experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in processing payments through various banking platforms.
Hands-on experience with Xero accounting software is essential.
Skills Required:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
