The Financial Accountant is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the company's financial operations.
This includes financial planning and analysis, accounting (journal entry, reconciliations and reporting), tax, treasury, and internal controls.Key Responsibilities: Oversee all financial reporting and accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.Maintain financial policies, financial internal controls and procedures, and monitor their effectiveness.Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to costs, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory requirements.Manage the preparation of budgets, financial projections, and other financial reports, and provide regular updates on financial performance to key stakeholders.Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support decision making by management.Ensure compliance with all tax regulations.Provide operational support to business units and support functions.Monitor the company's cash flow and optimize interest.Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the company's operations.Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and control processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.Analyse and interpret variances between actual and budgeted costs, investigation reasons for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as necessary.Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency, reduce production costs and maximise profitability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts across the company.Prepare annual financial statements.
Qualifications and Experience: BCom degree.Minimum 5 years' experience in similar role at a manufacturing business.SAP or similar ERP experience.
