My client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Financial Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will support financial planning, control, and management functions across various projects, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and providing detailed reporting and analysis.This role is based in Randburg, Johannesburg North.Key Responsibilities:Planning and Control:Assist in opening production bank accounts for new projects.Set up workflows on the P2P system and provide training to new users.Manage petty cash requests and disbursements for production teams.Project Budgeting and Margins:Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for sales and cost of sales across various business units.Debtors Control:Manage the onboarding of new customers, invoicing, and cash receipt processes.Review debtor age analysis and follow up on overdue payments.Financial Management:Calculate and prepare revenue, deferred revenue, and cost of sales journals in compliance with IFRS 15.Manage work in progress (WIP) calculations and journal entries.Review payroll journals and reconciliations for accuracy.Cash Management:Oversee petty cash processes and ensure reconciliation to the general ledger.Provide regular cash flow forecasts and reports on outstanding debtors.Reporting:Assist in the preparation of management accounts and business sales reports.Prepare consolidated cash flow reports for group-level reporting.Audit and Compliance:Provide support during audits and assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.Prepare BBBEE spend and training reports for compliance purposes.Qualifications and Experience required:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience in financial accounting, with knowledge of IFRS 15.Strong proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Sage, ERP) and Excel.
