Job & Company Descriptions:A retail company is currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of the organisation. As a Financial Accountant you will responsible for the following:Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with local accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.Oversee the general ledger, ensuring the proper classification of financial transactions.Reconcile accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.Maintain the chart of accounts and recommend improvements as needed.Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights and recommendations to management.Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections to support decision-making and planning.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance team members and department heads, to streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency.Support external audits and regulatory compliance requirements by providing necessary documentation and explanations.Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements affecting the organization, ensuring compliance with these changes.Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of financial operations.Job Experience and Skills Required:Completed Bcom in FinanceCompleted SAIPA or SAICA articlesMinimum 1 - 2 years post articles experienceRetail experience would be beneficial
