Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Compliance : Maintain accurate financial records that adhere to local accounting standards and company policies, preparing management accounts and annual financial statements. General Ledger Management : Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate classification of transactions. Stock Control : Implement and maintain robust stock control processes, ensuring effective inventory management. Costing : Manage costing processes, providing accurate cost analysis to support pricing and profitability decisions. Reconciliation & Analysis : Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, accounts receivable, and payable; identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections, analysing financial performance against budgets and forecasts and offering actionable insights. Management Accounting : Conduct management accounting tasks, including variance analysis, to inform strategic decision-making. Month-End & Year-End Closing : Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures for timely, accurate financial reporting. Process Improvement : Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial processes, implementing improvements to streamline operations. Audit & Compliance Support : Support external audits, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to IFRS and tax laws. Continuous Learning : Stay current with evolving accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles. 2-5 years of post-articles experience within the retail, wholesale, or franchise industry. Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and South African regulatory requirements.
