Financial Accountant

This position reports to: Finance ManagerResponsibilities include:Preparing monthly management accountsPreparing monthly Balance sheet reconciliationsProcess monthly standard journals, provisions, and accrualsComparing budgets to actual results and reporting on variances from the budgetMaintaining and reconciling intercompany loans.VAT preparation and submission to SARS as well as dealing with any audit queries from SARS.PAYE monthly submission to SARS.Preparing audit files and assist with co-ordination of the audit and address audit queriesFull responsibility of fixed assets, this includes maintaining fixed asset registers and preparing and processing monthly depreciation journals.Assisting the financial manager and other departments with finance related queriesCandidate requirements:B. Com (Honours) in accountingSAICA articles will be an advantage15 years Financial Accounting experience with 3 years financial accounting experience in the investment industry will be an advantageSelf-starter and ability to work independentlyExperience in working with multiple TB's (5 to 10)Ability to multitask and work well under pressureStrong balance-sheet reconciliation skillsVAT knowledge, experience in reconciliation and problem solvingSARS E-filing experienceExcellent excel skillsSage One Accounting system experienceGood communication skillsQuick learner
