A BCom degree in Accounting or Financial Management, along with experience using SAP software is non-negotiable for this role.
Requirements: BCom (Accounting/Financial management) essential Preferably Completed CA(SA) Articles / CIMA articles (verified relevant work-based practical experience) 3 – 5 years successful experience in a similar financial role Experience and knowledge of SAP essential Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook Knowledge/exposure to CAMS/EFT payment systems Attention to detail Accuracy Deadline orientated Ability to work independently and cope with pressure Capability to communicate, both internally and externally, across all levels of hierarchy People management, motivational and driver skills Knowledge/exposure to One Stream / Hyperion reporting systems would be advantageous Analytical Ability Attention to detail Problem Solving Good Communication skills Deadline Orientated Basic duties include, but are not limited to: Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Completion of all Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly in accordance with Group deadlines.
Payroll maintenance and management: Preparing the monthly salaries journal for SAP.
Preparation of the monthly salaries recon.
Management Reporting: Assisting with the preparation of the monthly management accounts (known as the Rolling Forecast).
Completion and assistance with various Operating Company (Opco- local) and Group reporting requirements including: Monthly treasury reports, Quarterly and Biannually Tax, BEE financial reporting, Audit and Internal control reports.
Assistance with the completion of Group Internal audits (Quarterly KCC reporting etc.)
Completion of Statutory Returns: Reconciliation and completion of returns in respect of the following statutory charges: VAT, PAYE, UIF, Skills Development Levy, Workmen's Compensation.
Fixed Assets: Responsible for the maintenance of the fixed asset register and asset verification.
Responsible for the reconciliation of the fixed asset register to the general ledger.
Stock: Processing of all stock purchases and reconciling monthly.
Assist with the month end Stock reconciliation.
Assistance with year-end stock counts.
Cashbook reconciliation: Full cash book function.
Prepare a daily cashbook reconciliation with Trade Counter records.
Reconciliation of refunds processed at Trade Counter.
Preparation of all Journals Intercompany: Reconcile and confirm monthly the intercompany balance with Group.
Exposure to foreign currency and export transactions.
Payments: Ensure all payments are authorised in accordance with the delegation of authority.
Ensure all payments are supported with appropriate documentation.
Ensure all payments are correctly allocated.
Ensure that all cheques are prepared accurately and timeously.
Ensure EFT payments are correctly allocated and authorised.
Bank Account: Maintain relationships with the bankers.
Oversee offshore payment process and treasury management.
Coordinate travel funds for all international travel.
Send documentation to the bank for incoming Export payments.
Updating annual ECA (Exchange Control Application) documentation.
Updating annual Insurance documentation.
Maintain updated bank mandates with our bankers and Group Treasury.
Cost control: Departmental reporting of cost variances.
Monitor cell phone costs and credit card expenses and adherence to policies.
Approve PRs and manage costs within budget.
Performing day to day responsibilities such as reviewing and authorising transactions to ensure that they are recorded accurately and are undertaken in line with Group Procurement policies.
