Financial Accountant

Job Description:Financial AccountantThis role is in Blackheath, Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.Start date: November 2024We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a close-knit finance team.
The Accountant will report directly to the CFO.What you will bring:Finance / Accounting Degree3 - 4 years experience in financial accounting - Leadership experience gained here would be ideal!Strong Technical Accounting knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressureAdvanced skills in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with various accounting packagesStrong conflict resolution & problem solving skillsThe role will involve:Oversee a team of 10 while providing coaching and performance evaluations.Handle the full financial function for multiple statutory entities, including preparation of consolidated Management Accounts and Statements of Financial Position.Cashflow reporting and forecastingManaging accuracy of fixed asset register on a rolling basisEnsure accuracy in financial reporting, cashflow forecasting, and tax calculations.
Prepare reports for the executive committee and manage year-end audits.Analyze financial results against budgets, investigate variances, and coordinate the annual budget process.
Liaise with banks and SARS on financial matters.Investigation and corroboration of variancesReconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returnsLiaising with SARS / tax practitioner on all tax related issuesResponsible for Creditors reconciliations and paymentsReview and approval of all paymentsReviewing of Cash cycle & Bank reconciliationsWe look forward to receiving your application.
