Key Responsibilities:Manage accounting for blockchain transactions, including cryptocurrencies, token-based assets, and smart contract activities.Prepare financial reports in compliance with IFRS or GAAP, incorporating digital assets and tokenized transactions.Conduct reconciliations of digital asset wallets, exchanges, and blockchain transactions.Ensure proper accounting treatment for cryptocurrency holdings, trades, and mining or staking rewards.Work with external auditors and consultants on audits related to digital assets.Stay informed on the latest regulations affecting digital assets and ensure compliance with tax and reporting requirements.Monitor and report on the financial performance of DeFi protocols, NFTs, and other Web3 initiatives.Assist in implementing financial controls and processes to mitigate risk associated with digital asset transactions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and engineering, to develop best practices for financial reporting and digital asset management. Qualifications & Skills:Bachelors Degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA(SA) or equivalent qualification is preferred.Experience in the Web3, blockchain, or cryptocurrency space is highly advantageous.Strong understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and decentralized finance (DeFi).Proficiency with accounting software and crypto asset management tools.Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP standards, including the accounting treatment of digital assets.Experience with wallet reconciliation, crypto exchange accounts, and understanding of smart contracts.Ability to stay up to date with regulatory changes and emerging trends in the crypto industry.Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
