Our Club Travel team is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team!About The RoleThe Financial Accountant is responsible for all financial reporting and management reporting to all stakeholders within the Club Travel Group, ensuring that information is produced timeously and error-free and that internal controls are adhered to for the protection of the company's assets and cash flows. The role provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, accounting and budgeting efforts of the group, establishing confidence in the accuracy of the information reflected in the accounting records.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and Management:Development, implementation, monitoring and review of long-term group financial models of the Club Group.Ensure all override and volume deal invoicing (excluding incentives for POS commissions) is up to date and monies collected.Ensure that overrides/GDS are calculated accurately and timeously for the partner's share.Ensure compliance with and submission of relevant accounting, tax and VAT legislation, regulations and governance practices, and ensure the implementation of the prescripts of the statutory laws across the Club Travel group.Ensure that the audit is completed unqualified and on time with few if any audit adjustments for all group companies.Ensure that all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems comply with appropriate Accounting Standards, regulatory requirements, and audit requirements as well as Group accounting policies as set by the holding company.Stakeholder Management:Ensure that group and company financial reports, packs and all related reports to the directors and management are on time, accurate and add value to the management and directing of the business.Ensure accuracy and presentation of reports are 100%.Team Management:Assign resources to effectively achieve objectives.Develop team members' skills and encourage growth.Succession Planning.Assist team in resolving operation problems.Administrative And Operational Oversight:Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.Analyze and document business processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies.Deadlines met for month-end closing of ledgers to ensure group reporting deadlines are met.Ensure that all accounts are reconciled to supporting statements and that all recon items are current and up to date.Oversee the development and implementation of an asset register that will inform the life span of assets, location thereof and depreciation and residual values in line with accounting standards.Improve monthly financial management reporting and metrics within the organization, develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information, and support the Head of Finance in making actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.Ensure that all accounts are valid and correctly reflect the financial performance and position of the business at any point in time, i.e. no balances in accounts that are incorrect, unsubstantiated or shouldn't be there.Ensure that any new system changes and technologies are tested and adopted.Remain flexible to the wider business needs of the company by rendering assistance for ad hoc projects and duties as required.Knowledge And Skills Requirements:Accounting degree or equivalent required.Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles preferred.Strong proficiency in MS Office packages and Google Suite (Excel & Sheets essential).Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and technology.Experience in supervising project and team activities.Experience in the travel/hospitality industry is preferred.Personal Competency Requirements:Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.Ability to inspire confidence and develop rapport with staff.Well-developed problem-solving and negotiating skills.Flexibility and adaptability to change.Ability to excel under pressure.Strong people skills to work with various stakeholders.Willingness to work a flexible schedule.Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.Analytical skills to analyze financial data and prepare reports.Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Discretion and awareness of confidentiality.By effectively fulfilling these responsibilities and demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and competencies, the Financial Accountant will contribute significantly to the financial success and sustainability of the Club Travel Group.About Club TravelFounded in 1987, Club Travel is dedicated to offering clients the best deals through competitive pricing and exceptional service.
