Our client in the logistics industry is looking for a Financial Accountant to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen and expertise in ensuring all financial processes align with best practices and regulatory standards. Responsibilities: Financial Management: Oversee the financial process, ensuring adherence to internal guidelines and procedures. Prepare monthly, interim, and year-end financial reports. Coordinate year-end estimates and annual budgets. Maintain up-to-date asset registers and accurate transaction records. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for review. Continuously improve financial processes for efficiency and accuracy. General Responsibilities: Manage financial and administrative processes, ensuring robust internal controls. Oversee internal and external audits and communicate effectively with finance and admin teams. Provide daily cash flow management and business support as needed. Debtors Management: Process debtors journals and perform monthly reconciliations. Complete monthly revenue reconciliations to ensure completeness of revenue reporting. Creditors & Expense Management: Accurately process and code expenses in the General Ledger for accurate reporting. Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant tax and accounting laws, including VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax. Prepare quarterly tax computations and file income tax returns. Maintain compliance with IFRS and local legislation, completing AFS within six months of the year-end. Key Skills: Strong understanding of IFRS principles, tax compliance, and financial controls. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle pressure and meet strict deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction across all levels of the organization. Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with finance-related computer applications. Experience in logistics, rail, or mining environments is an advantage. Valid drivers license and own motor vehicle. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or equivalent. Chartered Accountant qualification (preferred). 2-3 years of experience in a finance role, with at least 2 years in a management position.
