Financial Accountant / Bookkeeper – Johannesburg
A hotel group based in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant / Bookkeeper. This role requires a motivated individual with excellent financial skills and the ability to work independently, managing the financial operations for the group.
Requirements:

Relevant Finance qualification
5 to 8 years of experience as a Financial Accountant or Bookkeeper with a solid track record
Payroll experience is essential
Experience with Sage Evolution is essential
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) – Advanced level
Must have a valid driver's licence; own transport is advised
Willingness to travel, if required by the company
Must be reliable, ethical, and confidentiality-driven with strong motivation and honesty
Valid RSA ID required

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage accounts across the hotel group
Prepare and present financial reports (monthly and annually) to the CEO and Board
Oversee creditors, debtors, reconciliations, and cash management
Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability
Manage payroll processes for the entire staff complement, as required
Handle statutory submissions and ensure compliance with regulations
Coordinate and manage the year-end audit process
Prepare and monitor the group's annual budgets
Operate independently as a self-driven individual with minimal financial supervision
Apply commercial acumen with strong leadership qualities
