Financial Accountant - 12 Months Contract

1. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The incumbent is expected to effectively support the Manager: Portfolio and Credit Risk Management and Financial Manager by ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and adhere to sound budgetary controls practices relating to Aspari (RF) (Pty) Ltd.
2. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Financial management

Reconciliation and preparation of monthly management accounts.
Reconciliation and preparation of annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance to GRAP and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Prepare the cashbooks.
Completion of tax returns.
Developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors, National and Provincial Treasury, Auditor General and many others at the benefit of the GPF.


Payments and receipts

Monthly reconciliation of payments and receipts.
Ensure that payments are made in timeous manner.


Assist with Audit Management

Liaise with internal and external auditors.
Coordinates financial accounting activities leading to the audits as per Audit plan.
Provides inputs to the Financial Manager to assist in reducing the numbers of significant matters of emphasis on the external Audit report relating to the financials of the Aspari as per the Finance Strategic objective.
Compile audit file to support AFS.


Budget Management

Prepare Aspari budget.
Reports on actual vs budgeted monthly to Financial Manager.
Maintains and manages proper records of all budget information.
Partake and monitor the budgeting process from start to finish.
Reports on Aspari cashflow.
Loads the prepared budget onto accounting system and monitors tools used to ensure early detection of under or overspending.
Manage revenue and expenditure effectively.
Prepare monthly commitments report regarding financial support on loans reconciliations.


General duties

Daily reporting.
Analyzing targets.
Meeting with department heads.
Providing back-office services such as accounts payable and reports on collections.
Reconciliation and issuing of loan statements.
Attend to and resolve queries relating to loan statements.
Monitoring cash flow.
Liaising with accountant teams.
Team player.
Assignment from supervisors within the Finance Unit.



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

B Com Financial Accounting.

WORK EXPERIENCE

3-5 Years relevant experience.
