The opportunity
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior / Assistant Manager to work in the Business Consulting Finance client workstreams at various industry clients, and to support business development activities across our Finance practice on strategic and priority accounts.
It is becoming increasingly important for organizations to critically think about improving their strategy and performance in a rapidly changing, digital and innovative world. We advise CFOs of mainly multinationals, but also mid-market or start-ups, on the future of their Finance function and support them during large transformation programs. For example, in their journey of becoming ever more data-driven, we help our clients accelerate by exploring opportunities that emerging technologies such as GenAI and ML bring to the Finance and Finance Analytics space. Next to that, think about advising CFOs on optimal steering information, improving clients' financial planning and analysis capabilities, realizing a new organizational model, or implementing improved Finance processes and technologies. In short, we advise on a broad range of topics that are high on the CFO agenda and that our Finance team is passionate about.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant/Assistant Manager, you will collaborate with our clients to understand the challenges that face their business and help implement a tailored solution. You will use your analytical ability to translate the corporate strategy of leading organizations into meaningful change. You will work with our clients to help solve their toughest challenges and deliver insightful recommendations that are rigorous in their grounding, creative in their selection, distinct to each client, and practical in their ability to be taken to market.
Some examples of how you will drive our client's finance department to the next level:

Designing the target finance operating model
Improving the closing, consolidation and reporting cycle through technology
Enhancing the decision making process by optimizing the budgeting and forecasting processes
Supporting as a functional Finance expert in the implementation of finance tools (ERP, Consolidation, Controlling, Reporting and Visualisation tools)
Making the change happen in the finance teams by designing and monitoring transition roadmaps
Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress.
Manage tasks with other team members considering engagement needs and identified business outcomes.
Build strong internal relationships within EY and with other services across the organisation.
Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
Analyse business processes, help in developing financial models, assist in improvement of performance of various functions within various organizations.
Display a logical thought process in understanding client challenges and exploring possible solutions.
Identify and escalate potential risks and issues to project manager along with suggested preventive or mitigating actions.
Develop your professional knowledge and experiences.
Willingness to travel to meet client needs.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

A bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as finance, business, engineering, computer science etc.
A post graduate degree or relevant professional designation (i.e. CA, CPA, CFA,).
Proficient in Microsoft office (including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint). Excellent academic record, ideally including a postgraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
A minimum of 3 years work experience at a Consulting firm or in the Finance function (e.g., as business controller support) of a multinational company
You have a proactive, flexible and positive work attitude and you like to work on challenging and diverse projects
You are focused on collaborating and working in a multidisciplinary team, and are capable of influencing, encouraging and stimulating others
You have the ambition to supervise and coach junior colleagues and contribute to their development
You are client-oriented, able to listen carefully to our clients' questions and needs, and able to translate these into concrete results
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
You possess excellent communication and presentation skills in English

Ideally, you'll also have

Good working knowledge of finance technology, including but not limited to ERP, Planning and Budgeting, Reporting/Visualization systems and tools
Experience in (Digital) Finance and Finance process improvement (e.g., Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay and/or Record-to-Report) and the desire to obtain more knowledge in the field of Finance, digital enablers and improving the Finance function
Knowledge of accounting & reporting in financial services
