Finance Team Leader - Trade

Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Finance Team Leader - Trade to join our Finance Team in Cape Town.

The position reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Your responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership and Management:

Supervise and mentor a team of accounts payable specialists.
Organize training sessions to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.


Accounts Payable Processing:

Oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices, statement reconciliations, and payments.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.


Vendor Management:

Maintain strong working relationships with vendors.
Negotiate payment terms and handle disputes effectively.
Ensure vendor accounts are reconciled accurately and resolutions are executed on outstanding items.


Process Improvement:

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Collaborate with IT and other departments to enhance AP systems.
Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures.


Reporting and Compliance:

Prepare detailed reports regarding AP metrics for senior management.
Monthly reporting on all Balance sheet control accounts (GRIR).
Manage audits related to accounts payable.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
4-5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficient in AP software and systems.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
