Your Mission MOSAIC is seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Manager to lead the organisation's financial health and sustainability.
This key leadership role ensures robust financial planning, management, and compliance while driving operational efficiency to support MOSAIC's mission of combating gender-based violence and promoting equality.
The Finance Manager oversees financial operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance while providing strategic insights to guide decision-making.
They also collaborate closely with programme teams to align budgets, spending, and reporting with donor expectations and organisational goals.
With strong financial leadership, expertise in budgeting and donor compliance, and a commitment to fostering collaboration between finance and programme delivery, the Finance Manager plays a critical role in enabling impactful programmes that create lasting change.
Key Responsibilities Financial Planning, Strategy and Reporting: Comprehensive reporting to internal and external stakeholders including executive management, board of directors, funders/donors Financial Administration and Management: Aligning organisational growth goals with funder priorities and budgets, consistently monitoring cash flows, reporting budget vs actuals to the management team, identifying on any priority deficits for proposal development Financial Policies and Procedures: Strategic Partnerships: Working closely with programmes teams to understand activity costs and flow, developing proposal budgets.
Operational Efficiency: Developing systems and procedures that enhance operational efficiency. Team Leadership: Leading and setting the pace for the finance department to deliver on its quarterly, monthly, and weekly strategic goals Operational Delivery: Reporting: Providing weekly updates on budget vs actual spend, identifying risk and proactively tabling suggestions to mitigate risk. deficits and overall organisational financial health Management Reporting: Providing management accounts and board reports. Strategic Leadership: Collaborating with a holistic Leadership Team to develop, embed, and implement finance department strategic plans. Policy/Process Implementation: Developing and executing finance department/organisational policies as well as training programmes for relevant staff in updated policies and procedures. Risk Management: Preparing annual financial statements, managing the audit process and assessing internal audit reports to ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
Cash Flow Management: Managing cash flow, including monthly financial statement evaluation and cash flow projections.
Statutory Reporting: Preparing and submitting returns in respect of P.A.Y.E., U.I.F., RSC Levies, Skills Levies & VAT, including the preparation of company provisional and annual returns.
Asset Oversight: Maintaining the fixed asset register and overseeing organisational assets.
Competencies and Skills Minimum of 5–7 years' experience in financial administration and management, with at least 3 years in the NGO sector.
Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA qualification preferred.
Proven experience as a Financial Manager or similar role within the NGO sector.
Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting to Executive Directors and Board Members. Experience in reporting to funders/donors locally, regionally, and internationally. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
