Finance ManagerMy client, a leader in the retail industry, is currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their team in Cape Town.The Finance Manager will act as a Finance business partner to the FMCG business by producing and reporting financial & management accounts, analyzing key financial information, generating financial budgeting and forecasting, and implementing strategies to reduce operational costs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMonthly financial and management reporting, supporting commentary and schedulesQuarterly forecastingAnnual budget and 3-year plan submissionsAnalyses of movements in general ledger balances (such as turnover, direct and overhead costs, cost recoveries etc.)Analyses of all aspects of gross margin (front margin, supplier rebates, stock adjustments etc.)Comparison of results to budget and prior year with related variance analysesAnalyses of financial data and other operating information to identify efficiency improvements or better cost managementReview of financial performance against key metrics and identify areas of concern by providing feedback to the business to support strategic decision makingMaintain a thorough understanding of business activity and initiatives and their impact on financial performanceMaintain a healthy relationship with internal customersLead a team of financial accountantsREQUIRED SKILLSPreference for CA, CIMA qualification or related qualificationFinancial and management reporting: 3 - 5 years related experience, preferably in retail and/or commercial environmentCommercially astute, articulate, strong technical skills, insightful and an influential leader impacting at both strategic and operational levelsGoogle Workspace and MS Excel proficientSAP S/4 HANA proficiency advantageousOnly candidates that meet the required skills from a retail and/or commercial environment will be considered for this role.
