Our client is part of an international group of companies established in 2002. They manage the group client base in 15 countries across Southern and East Africa.Their offices are situated in Paardevlei, Somerset West, with 35 young and energetic permanent employees and 30+ freelance employees. Their services focus on sustainable certification, including organic, fair trade, and Rainforest Alliance.Overall Job Summary:They are hiring a Finance Manager to be based at their office in Somerset West to start in December or as soon as possible. You will form part of an existing financial team (1 direct report) and report to the General Manager. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a small (but fast-growing!) company through managing all financial matters, compiling relevant financial reports, and ensuring tax compliance. As part of the group, you will also gain valuable international experience.Duties & Responsibilities:Ensure accurate and timely financial reportingForecasting and budgeting at subsidiary levelManaging month-end closure processesOverseeing the finance team's performanceCapturing and reconciliation of intercompany transactionsEnsure compliance with all statutory requirements (IT/VAT/PAYE)Administer the payroll function (SimplePay)Collaborating with other departments reliant on financial dataTaking charge of general tasks within the finance departmentDesired Experience & Qualification:Tertiary degree in accounting or financeCompleted SAICA or SAIPA articlesMinimum 2 years related work experiencePractical accounting experience including the preparation of financial statementsAny managerial experience will be beneficialExcellent English and Afrikaans communication skillsGood planning and general management skillsDynamic, innovative, and willing to go the extra mileInterest in agriculture and/or sustainabilityPackage & Remuneration:Remuneration: Market-related salary dependent on experience and qualifications.Type of Contract: Permanent (6-month probation)Benefits:Should the probation successfully lead to a permanent position, the following will be applicable:60% medical aid contribution for you and your dependants + income protection insurance after 12 months of employment. When working more than 6 months, you will become eligible for a performance bonus based on the level of achievement of your annual objectives.
