Reference: 9952 MLR Consultant: Michellele RouxJob Description:Business Development:Serve as a business partner to the MD on the organization's financial, budgeting, and administrative processes.Support business development strategies with financial analysis and due diligence specifically related to Africa.Develop and implement cost saving initiatives and ensure the best use of company resources.Facilitate negotiations of commercial terms related to contracts for irrigation projects in Africa.Financial Management:Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics.Ensure Statutory Accounts are paid on time.Responsible personally for General Ledger and Financial Statements – Balance Sheets, Income Statements, Fixed Assets, and Intercompany reconciliation.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advise management of actions and potential risks.Manage budget and control expenses effectively.Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance.Coordinate all audit activities.Oversee, along with Supply Chain Manager, the forecasting process.Drive and coordinate internal Annual Operating Plan.Manage and mentor staff in the finance department.Ensure employees in relevant departments are more efficient regarding administration systems through co-operative management.Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
