Fin OverviewFin South Africa is an early-stage African fintech investor active in financial wellness, BNPL, and Credit Scoring and operating in several Sub-Saharan African countries.The company is looking for a Finance Manager to join a dynamic and ever-growing team with ample opportunity for growth in its South African operations. This is a permanent, in-office position based in Pretoria, Gauteng.The Finance Manager will be responsible for formulating and implementing Fin South Africa's Finance strategy. The role will have a dual reporting line to the Country MD and the Group CFO.Key AccountabilitiesOversee the implementation of financial policies and procedures, including financial reporting, forecasting budgeting and related aspects.Ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements (Tax, Statutory Annual Financial Statements, NCR, FSCA).Taking the lead in the preparation of financial management information and providing insights on the financial health of the organization.Ensuring credibility of the Finance function by providing timely and accurate reports including detailed analysis of the budget, financial trends and forecasts.Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.Profit planning and control including taking a hands-on lead position in developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive product cost and profitability analysis system.Monitoring cash flows and liquidity positions.Working capital management.Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations.Overseeing accounts payable, receivable, tax, treasury, payroll, and accounting functions.Providing staff training on good financial practices and efficiency improvement.Consolidation of South African subgroup.Treasury management on the South African subgroup.Financial ReportsTimely preparation of bank and cash reconciliations.Timely preparation of monthly management accounts.Timely preparation of monthly performance reports.Timely preparation of weekly cash flow forecasting.Preparation of financial reports and ensuring that they comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Other ReportsTimely preparation of monthly audit reports.Annual preparation of the draft statutory financial statements for purposes of external audit.Provide lead in the provision of timely governance reports.Any other reports requested by the Group CFO or Country MD.Skills and CompetenciesStrategic thinker with solid financial and commercial acumen.Dynamic, analytical and self-driven individual with the ability to work in a highly deadline-driven environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent report writing and presentation skills.Must have excellent leadership, organizational and planning skills.Ability to analyse and monitor the various risks that face the business.Ability to develop good working relationships with all stakeholders, executive management and other levels of staff for smooth running of the business.Advanced computer literacy.QualificationsTertiary education in Finance: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Must hold a CA (SA) certification.Experience in a senior finance position leading a team.Knowledge of Sage accounting systems will be beneficial.Experience in the financial services sector will be beneficial.Continued learning & development will be supported.
