Job DescriptionA prominent NPO is looking for a Finance Manager to join the Executive Director's team. The position requires specific skills and experience and a high level of discretion, trustworthiness, and professionalism. The incumbent needs to be energetic, confident, proactive, and passionate about the role. This is an in-office position based in Glenhazel, Sandton.The Finance Manager will take the lead on all day-to-day finance matters across the organisation and report directly to the Executive Director to ensure all accounting tasks are efficiently and effectively implemented. The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks at once, and a wide breadth of experience managing accounting responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesFinancial managementLeadership of the finance function to support all stakeholders and meet their needsReview and revision of organisational financial policies and procedures from time to timeAnnual budget set-up and management across the organisation including all programmes and projectsReview of cost centres and allocation codes and monitoring correct allocation thereofMonthly collation of all income/payments and allocation codesCompilation of financial report for donorsDrafting monthly management accounts and reporting to the finance sub-committee on a monthly basisEnsuring individual projects are within budgetWorking with accounting firm and performing general accounting and bookkeeping duties as requiredRequirementsKey CompetenciesProven experience of managing and leading financial management and reporting into the Executive Director / CEOKnowledge of bookkeeping practicesKnowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and proceduresKnowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirementsThe candidate should be proficient in Word and ExcelKnowledge of the Xero system or willingness to learnTeam player attitude and the willingness to assist colleagues where necessaryCriteria for the role:Valid drivers' license and prepared to travel when neededTo demonstrate high efficiency and competencyAbility to work independently
