Job description:
In this position, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of a high quality, accurate and timely professional service to clients by ensuring successful completion of assigned audit engagements, from start to finish, inclusive of preplanning and wrap up activities.
Formal Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in finance-related field (essential)
Honours degree in Finance-related field (recommended)
CTA completed and valid (Essential)
CA(SA) or equivalent (advantageous)
Completed articles in external audit or financial management
Job Objectives:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance unit
Take responsibility for statutory compliance of the group
Staff management via KPAs including but not limited to VAT, PAYE, SDL, WC
Take responsibility for bookkeeping, accounting and cost control for provisional tax, Income Tax, etc.
for the group companies
Improve and maintain system automation
Take responsibility for external and internal audits of the group
Ensure the overall integrity of the financial companies ensuring that the audits are completed within the reporting systems of the group companies
Take responsibility for cash flow forecasting for the group
Preparation of annual financial statements for the group companies
Production of standardized daily, weekly and monthly reporting
Take responsibility for the invoicing and collection process internally in the form of financial statistics (revenue, cash, debtors for the group companies)
Take responsibility for the payment process of the group WIP balances and production statistics in the form of planned vs actual performance, project status against budget, etc.
Take responsibility for the procurement process of the group
Take responsibility for timely month-end and year-end financial closure, manage payroll and make timely employee payments
Facilitate the drafting of annual budgets, building budget assumptions and scenarios and assisting in the presentation and management of WIP including project budget tracking and approval process of budgets reporting, management of overruns, revenue accrual
Monitor and report financial performance against strategy, budget management and past performance
Support the CFO as and when required
Preparation of monthly EXCO and Board reports/packs (including Balance Sheet, Income Statements, Cashflow Statements, Ratio analysis, Strategic Indicators, Variance Analysis, etc.)
Experience:
3 – 5 years' experience working in finance including 2 years' managerial experience.
