FunctionFinance Manager - BAC South AfricaPosition Purpose The Finance Manager leads a small team, and is responsible for meeting the management, financial accounting, and statutory requirements of the business in an efficient and ethical manner.
This position reports locally to the MD but holds strategic relationships with the global BAC finance teams. As part of the local leadership team, the Finance Manager will support internal functions including manufacturing, supply chain, sales, HR and IT and is as such an on-site position.
Principle Accountabilities Serve as final point of escalation for accounts receivable and payable mattersSubmission of monthly statutory returns requirementsReview, approve and implement internal controls to reduce risks within the organizationLead continuous improvement and problem-solving activities to support teamworkLead and finalize annual audit process and prepare financial statements according to reporting frameworksPreparation of monthly reporting packs and performance reports against the budget and long-term strategy – multi currency and US GAAP (D+4)Annual budget and future financial strategy preparation with management team, followed by presentation to the Leadership TeamCapital expenditure – planning, negotiations of price and terms, and expenditureMonthly calculation of salary provisions, bonus payouts and sales commissionRecruit, train, and develop finance team members. Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviewsNature & Scope: The Finance manager will report to the Managing Director and support BAC South African operation. The position will have interactions with all levels of the local organization and with BAC's EMEIA head office in Belgium, and global head office in the US.
ProfileKnowledge And Skills A qualified Chartered Accountant with manufacturing experience, judgment to plan and accomplish financial goals and close out month end reporting within deadlinesA minimum of 10 years' experience in a leadership role and the ability to work with a great degree of independencePossess a solid working knowledge of SA statuary reporting and tax requirementsExperience in multinational / multicurrency business environmentWorking experience of government agencies – SARS, SARB, CIPC, Statistics South AfricaContract interrogation and negotiations – customers, suppliers, labour, insurance, and financiersDeveloping and management of BEE strategiesBudgeting and forecasting – annual, quarterly and weekly cash forecastsDemonstrated expertise in Office 365 applications & ERP finance modulesFinancial statement analysisExperience with developing and monitoring financial KPI'sWorking Conditions: Due to the close cooperation with the management team and operations, this position requires the Finance Manager to work on-site at our premises in Philippi. As a senior member of the team, extra work hours might be required to meet deadlines.
