With their feedlot located in Heidelberg, they are committed to delivering high-quality products to their customers while upholding the highest standards of sustainability and ethical practices.Our client is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and results-oriented Finance Manager to join their team at the Heidelberg feedlot. This role presents the perfect opportunity for individuals looking to relocate to a beautiful small town with good schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial function of both the Heidelberg and Nigel divisions, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strategic financial planning.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Oversee and manage the full financial function of the Heidelberg and Nigel divisions.Strategically apply commercial and financial knowledge to implement risk mitigation strategies.Review and monitor internal controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance.Coordinate statutory audit and tax compliance with external auditors.Maintain and monitor the accounting system, preferably ERP systems such as Business Central.Prepare financial forecasts and annual budgets.Compile and review financial reports, analyzing revenue, expenses, cash flows, and balance sheets.Assist management in making informed financial decisions.Manage and lead staff within the finance department.Investigate and implement strategies to improve profitability.Control operational and capital expenditure to optimize costs.Participate in the execution of changes to procedures, policies, and systems to facilitate company expansion and compliance.Manage other administrative departments such as cattle and feed purchases.Monitor and enhance controls to ensure the serialization system is effective and accurate.Manage and resolve all SARS-related queries or audits.Ensure compliance with group requirements including insurance, pension funds, and financial reporting.Stay updated on current market trends and industry developments.Desired Experience & QualificationRequirements:Minimum of 5 years of relevant senior management experience, preferably within the agricultural industry.Strong knowledge of internal control systems, computer systems, risk assessments, cost accounting, and stock control.Proficient in computer applications with excellent analytical skills.Results-driven with strong leadership capabilities.Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
