The Finance Lead is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strategic financial planning, and efficient management of financial resources. The role involves collaboration with senior management to provide insights that guide business decisions and ensure the financial health of the organization.
Position Title: Financial Lead
Seniority Level: Senior
Location: Johannesburg
Years of Experience: 5-7 Years
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is expected.
Work Model: Onsite/Hybrid

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts, providing analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning.
Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the company's financial stability and liquidity.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and profitability improvement.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Stakeholder Communication: Present financial reports and insights to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate policies. Identify and manage financial risks.
Vendor & Partner Relations: Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial service providers.

Requirements:

CA(SA) qualification or equivalent recognized accounting designation.
Experience (minimum 3 years) in a financial leadership role, preferably within a similar industry.
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations and accounting standards (GAAP).
Strong understanding of risk management principles.
A strategic mindset with a focus on driving business growth and profitability.
