Closing Date 22 November 2024 Career Stream Finance / Accounting Leadership Pipeline Manage Function Job Purpose To create and ensure sustainability of Clusters financial function through the execution of strategic and operational financial management processes and activities in order to achieve Nedbank's and Nedbank Africa Regions (NAR) strategic objectives.
Key focus on Balance Sheet Management and driving Data strategy and key initiatives to assist in achieving the business outcomes of NAR subsidiaries to attain key performance metrics.
Job Responsibilities Translate the Nedbank and Business Unit strategy into a customised divisional strategy Develop and drive the NAR Data Strategy Actively drive key Balance sheet performance metrics including Strategic portfolio Tilt and Margin Management Oversee Liquidity, Interest rate, Capital and Market Risk in the subsidiaries Ensure Governance and Compliance in relation to Balance Sheet management and ALCO processes in subsidiaries Project manage Key initiatives to improve and streamline Finance, Credit and Data processes to improve effectiveness within Finance, BSM, Credit and Data Provide stakeholder support and technical expertise Encourage inter- and intra-Cluster collaboration Provide external stakeholders formal and informal knowledge sharing and feedback Develop and introduce a people strategy that will create a culture that drives the Cluster and Nedbank's vision and values Manage resources, retention and critical staff.
Ensure that leadership-relevant strategies and plans have been communicated and implemented by direct reports Establish and operate a system of internal financial controls Analyse financial impact of strategic objectives by evaluating financial activities Conduct research and benchmark best practices, legislation and industry standards Build operating processes and financial models to be used for scenario planning and opportunity evaluation Compile, evaluate and recommend changes to three-year plans which are aligned to strategy Provide financial and management reports to relevant stakeholders, adhering to quality standards regarding information and schedules Track and report performance per timelines and take corrective action as required Plan financial management strategy Review and make recommendations to improve Nedbank group's financial management policies and procedures Align financial and business decisions to group strategic objectives Manage compliance to legislative and regulatory requirements by formulating policies and procedures, issuing guidelines, interpreting legislation and forecasting changes Identify improvement opportunities and review and provide guidance and support to executive management teams Research and implement global best practices Oversee data governance and compliance in the subsidiaries Provide analytics to support business decision making Attendance of Subsidiary and Group ALCO meetings Deliver key reporting outcomes for NAR, including BA610 reporting Minimum Experience Level Up to 8 years financial management in financial services sector and >5 years managing others.
Experience in managing full finance function for a business unit also required.
