Our esteemed client in the manufacturing sector is actively seeking a dynamic Finance & Controlling Manager to join their team, based in Ballito.The Finance and Controlling Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations, planning, and operational reporting within the organisation. The role ensures the financial health of the company by providing accurate financial analysis, controlling costs, managing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. A key focus is managing financial performance in a manufacturing environment, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling operations, while also staying updated with and integrating the latest financial technologies.The position reports to the Managing Director.Duties and Responsibilities:Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly reporting deliverables to local operations management, the Regional and Corporate clusters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company reporting standards and IFRS.Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide rolling forecasts to support strategic decision making.Cost Control & Analysis: Monitor and analyse cost performance, including monthly analysis of budget vs. actual spend, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving cost saving initiatives.Inventory: Compare the GL inventory balance with physical counts or inventory management systems, ensuring accuracy.Ageing Analysis: Ensure long-outstanding items on the balance sheet (e.g., aged receivables or payables) are appropriately classified and reviewed for potential write-offs or provisions.Cash Flow Management: Manage the company's cash flow, ensuring liquidity and optimising working capital.Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial policies.Resolve Issues: Investigate and resolve discrepancies by working closely with the internal team or correcting errors in the underlying documentation.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, and legal requirements at the operational level, including VAT and corporate governance.ERP System Management: Manage and optimise the use of the ERP system for financial reporting and analysis, ensuring master data integrity, with specific emphasis on D365.Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks within the organisation.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and sales, to align financial goals with overall company objectives.Training & Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.Technology Integration: Stay updated with the latest financial technologies and integrate them into the company's processes for better efficiency and effectiveness.Education and Experience:Degree in finance or management accounting (BCom Accounting or similar).Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a financial management/controlling capacity.Experience with an ERP system essential (D365 highly advantageous).Experience in manufacturing finance operations non-negotiable.Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.Knowledge and Skills:Advanced working knowledge of MS Office is essential.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and leadership abilities are critical.Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, driving financial performance proactively.
