Finance Controller

Minimum Job Requirements: Honours Degree in Accounting. CA (SA), a strong advantage. 5 years plus overall combined accounting and finance experience essential. Proven working experience as a Finance Manager/Financial Controller. Understanding of a project-based environment essential. Sage/VIP advanced knowledge. Competencies/Skills: Financial and business risk management. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP & IFRS). Knowledge of system and process implementations essential. Must be efficient and ensure compliance in addressing technical accounting issues. Good communication skills (verbal & written). Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Agile leadership and supervision skills. Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment. Must be deadline driven. Good interpersonal skills in managing relationships. Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the finance function, including: Analysing financial data Managing cost optimising projects Making recommendations for improvement. Manage and co-ordinate the preparation of budget and financial forecasts. Manage the budget process, and report variances. Manage audits and attend to queries. Compile and review all financial reporting, including financial statements and financial results. Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Costing Accounting, Inventory Accounting, etc. Support and ensure month-end and year-end close processes, quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, reporting requirements and tax filings.
