Finance Controller

Core Knowledge & Skills:
Matric + accounting tertiary qualification
+/- 5 years shipping experience in finance
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices
High level work accuracy
Computer/systems literate – MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook and accounting programmes
Excellent interpersonal skills (written and verbal communication skills)
Statutory & legal practices

DUTIES:
Bank recons
Compile/Review Income Statements
Compile monthly File – Income statement and balance sheet recons
Review overheads
Compile cash flow forecasts
Finance report
Fixed assets register – maintain and calculate depreciation
Labelling of fixed Assets
Process depreciation journals
Process overhead expenses
Process payments in accounting system
VAT recons and return
Monthly salary control account recons – balance sheet
Monthly ROE
Insurance - maintain policy and any claims
Check for customer payments
Assist with liaising with banks for any queries
Assist with Budget preparation
Audit file preparation, compile and review recons
Assist with auditors on any queries
Arrange Forex for travel purposes
Comparison of charges between banks
Assist with any tenant queries
Cash to Master
