Purpose of the role: To support the finance team by managing the day-to-day financial operation, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and facilitating communication between departments. This position is vital for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization and ensuring that finance goals are met on time and within budget. Job requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: ? Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations. ? Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). ? Strong numerical and analytical skills. ? Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ? Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. ? Good organizational and time management skills. ? Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ? Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Minimum Qualifications and Experience ? Bachelors degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. ? Some experience or coursework in finance or accounting is preferred but not required. Main Responsibilities/Tasks: Financial Management Support: ? Assist the finance team with the preparation of financial statements and reports. ? Support the management of accounts payable and receivable. ? Help monitor cash flow and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions. ? Prepare and process quotations, invoices, and estimates as required. Record Keeping and Documentation: ? Maintain accurate and organized financial records and files. ? Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents. ? Update and manage financial databases with relevant information. Budgeting and Forecasting: ? Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets. ? Help in compiling data for financial forecasts and reports. Compliance and Auditing: ? Support in ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. ? Assist with internal and external audits as needed. Invoicing and Reporting: ? Prepare and submit monthly statements and financial reports to the Finance Manager. ? Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported in a timely manner. Administrative Support: ? Provide general administrative support to the finance department, such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining correspondence. ? Assist in the preparation of financial presentations and materials for meetings. Communication and Liaison: ? Communicate with internal departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information. ? Coordinate with suppliers and customers regarding billing and payment issues. Other Duties: ? Participate in finance meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks. ? Support the finance team with any additional administrative tasks as needed Requirements: Grade 12 A certificate or diploma in Financial Management or Accounting. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, etc.). Excellent time management. Good administrative skills with special attention to detail. South African unemployed Aged between 18 and 34. Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before.
