With more than 97,000 employees, SGS operates a network of over 2,600 offices and laboratories around the world.Job DescriptionREPORTING LINESite SupervisorPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAssess the sampling activities carried out on site by samplers, as well as the sample preparation supervisor, to ensure sufficient staff are on site.Ensure staff are performing sampling per SoP/Mission Order.Record and report deviations and issues from the site continuously.Supervise and report if staff are deviating from SGS policies surrounding ethics and integrity.Carry out training where needed for staff.Monitor staff times on site.Assist in the training, coaching and counseling of full-time employees, subcontractors, and part-time employees in conjunction with the branch manager to ensure continuity of competencies to underpin the growth strategies.Ensure that all SGS equipment (Camera, vehicles, prep equipment if needed) is respected and maintained in good working order.Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the direct line manager.SPECIFIC AUTHORITIESCease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environments without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to action.Cease work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situations to higher authority to take action.Initiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified, or when nonconformity is identified.Coordinate quality across Trade sites PE.Plan staff requirements with PE supervisors.Key Performance IndicatorsReport deviations on site staff and correct these with immediate supervisors.Provide updates on inspections through WhatsApp and email.Discipline and remove staff that do not comply with SGS policies and rules as well as those that consistently do not perform according to their planned tasks.QualificationsEducationMinimum Grade 12 (Matric).Computer Literacy in Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook.ExperienceMinimum of 1-2 years of Trade related experience or similar.Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write).Typing Skills.If the incumbent is new in the industry, background and qualifications shall be a criterion.RequirementsSampling procedure knowledge of minerals.Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak).Any other languages are an added advantage.Driver's license.Additional Information
