Our 93,000 employees operate a network of 2,600 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world.Job DescriptionPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESTo assess the sampling activities carried out on site by samplers, as well as the sample preparation supervisor, to ensure:Sufficient staff are on siteStaff performing sampling per SoP/Mission OrderDeviations and issues from site are recorded and reported continuously (email & Whatsapp communication)Supervise and report if staff are deviating from SGS policies surrounding ethics and integrityCarry out training where needed for staffMonitor staff times on siteRESPONSIBILITIESAttend to all aspects of operational matters related to the work in progressEnsure adherence to International Standards / SoP / Mission OrderEnsure adherence to Standard Operating ProceduresEnsure adherence to the Company Code of EthicsLiaison with direct superior regarding progress and/or non-conformanceEnsure maintenance of work files & field reportsCo-ordinate the daily operational deployment and activities of commercial inspectors in conjunction with the site supervisorsAssist in the training, coaching and counseling of full-time employees, sub contractors and part-time employees in conjunction with the branch manager to ensure continuity of competencies to underpin the growth strategiesEnsure that all SGS equipment (Camera, vehicles, prep equipment if needed) is respected and maintained in good working orderAdhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management systemPerform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.SPECIFIC AUTHORITIESCease the use of any equipment that may be deemed to constitute a safety hazard or enter hazardous environment without the necessary knowledge and protection and report the situation to higher authority to actionCease to carry on with work that may affect the quality (integrity) of services and report the situations to higher authority to take actionInitiate a formal improvement request when a deviation of the system occurs, possible improvements are identified or when nonconformity is identifiedCoordinate quality across Trade sites PEPlan staff requirements with PE supervisorKey Performance IndicatorsReporting deviations on site staff and correcting these with immediate supervisorsProviding updates on inspections through whatsapp and emailAuthority to discipline and remove staff that do not comply with SGS policies and rules as well as those that consistently do not perform according to their planned tasks.QualificationsQualifications & ExperienceMatric / National Senior CertificateSampling procedure knowledge of mineralsLanguages: Proficiency in English (Read, Write, Speak)Any other languages an added advantageDriver's licenseComputer literacy (Minimum Word and Excel)Additional Information
