Field Service Engineer (Power Quality & Ais)

Description You as a Field Service Engineer will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. You will be executing service work according to agreed workflows and in accordance with Hitachi Energy standard processes and safety guidelines. Delivering excellent customer service to satisfy customers. In close co-operation with customer and other Hitachi Energy teams, take actions to identify new service business opportunities for Hitachi Energy.
Your responsibilities
Performing service tasks, identifies technical problems and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in any service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.).Contributing to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understands their needs. Identifying new sales opportunities and communicates them internally. Materials and supply: Coordinating, preparing and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities.Preparing all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative. Reporting work done in a timely manner and follows up when needed.Proactively identifies potential equipment failures and requests proactive corrective actions. Troubleshooting equipment failure and makes recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.Proactively identifies suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicates them further in the Hitachi Energy organization. Providing recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.Applying safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities. A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technical qualification.Minimum 3+years of experience in Power Quality product Installation & Commission is required.Knowledge of AIS switchgear and requirements for Installation and commissioning procedures is preferred.Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
