General Accountability:
The Field Health Specialist is organizationally located within the Personal Health and Wellness Unit (PHW) and reports to the Senior Field Health Specialist in HSD HQ located in Washington DC. The incumbent is responsible for technical work as assigned by the SHS for all general and day-to-day nurse specific duties and responsibilities, and for Hub specific operational tasks as assigned by the Hub Team Lead.
Functions and Duties:

Delivers expert level nursing services and support to HSD management, Hub TLs, and stakeholders external to HSD.
Engages in meetings between key players in the various regions and participates in multi-disciplinary mission travel efforts.
Contributes to and participates in nurse managed programs including Medical Evacuation and Preventive Health and Wellness Promotion.
Collaborates with colleagues from OHS and MHW during joint health and wellness program outreach efforts.

Selection Criteria:

Master's degree with 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Strong theoretical base in subject area, with the ability to translate theory into practical applications.
Valid and current Registered Nurse licensure, certification, or other professional recognition per local public health authority requirements.
Able to take 24-hour nurse call duty assignment.
Proficiency in written, spoken, and clinical English.
Ability to travel internationally as required.

Preferred Experience:

5 or more years of experience working as an in-house nurse for a large employer.
Demonstrated excellence in clinical judgement and decision-making.
Experience working with international organizations / multicultural populations.
Proficiency in two or more languages.
