Job Advert SummaryThe Farm manager position is available for suitable candidates at our Tarlton site. This role reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day operations, leading all aspects of crop production, including land preparation, planting, spraying, fertilization, and harvesting of all production crops at Greenway Farms Production Business Unit.Minimum RequirementsAgriculture Diploma/Degree advantageousAt least 3 years' experience with large scale vegetable farmingAt least 5 years' experience managing a team in a farm environmentExperience building, working in, or leading and interacting within a multi-disciplinary team including farm managers, operators, agronomy technicians, business managers, and general labourExperience in farm operation and training operatorsExperience working with agriculture equipment and machineryDuties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all activities on the production site, including land preparation, planting, spraying, fertilization, and harvesting.Planning, coordinating, organizing, and controlling all activities around the growing of crops in the production department.Uphold the execution of all operational schedules, ensuring operations are timely and of excellent quality.Prepare plans and schedules for planting, spraying, land operations, and harvesting, ensuring staff understands expectations.Manage and uphold operational standards and outputs, ensuring efficiencies of operations are within the set KCVs.KPI management and reflection reporting, insights, performance management, dashboards, and controls.Manage and allocate the correct resources for all jobs and operations through effective planning and efficiency of both man and machines.Manage all activities around production input resources (diesel, seeds, fertilizer, chemicals, etc.).Uphold and manage all production stocks through correct processes, procedures, and systems.Foster a culture that actively develops teams through upskilling and training.Lead the team through motivation, high communication, influencing, and guiding.Effectively manage HR through high engagement performance reviews with staff, managing the staffing budget and processes timely and with integrity.Uphold all HR processes and policies; develop strategies for people development, upskilling, and training.Ensure all staff adhere to health and safety regulations.Implement and uphold the Global GAP standards and compliance requirements for the business.Facilitate meetings, training, and the development of quality production operators with knowledge of pest control and plant protection products.Foster a culture that upholds the quality and execution of asset management, inspections, and maintenance workflow standards.Financial responsibilities may include managing a budget for planned schedules, negotiating with vendors or suppliers, assisting with budget development, and meeting financial efficiency targets.Uphold standards of housekeeping.
