Fantastic Rider/Groom Opportunity - WiltshireExceptional groom and rider sought for small family eventing yard in beautiful Wiltshire countryside.Needed to start beginning September. Live in if required. Cheerful, experienced, resilient, hard-working, efficient, flexible, tidy, organised, and fun person sought for this full-time (5/6 days, depending on workload) rider/groom role. You will have sole day-to-day charge of a beautifully setup and well-resourced family event yard with a small team of horses from 5-year-olds to Intermediate.You will be supporting a young rider attempting to combine eventing 3 horses while at university not far from home. The role will involve all day-to-day yard duties (including mucking out and paddock maintenance etc.) as well as riding. You must therefore be an experienced jockey, comfortable in schooling and hacking fit event horses to a high standard.Liaising with vets, physios, farrier, etc. Access to exceptional and very busy coach alongside rider. Eventing experience is absolutely essential as well as an exceptional standard of turnout and horsemanship. We love our happy, well-behaved horses and want someone who feels that way too.Must be insurable on a 3.5t, and HGV licence is a bonus. We run a professional setup, but it is not a busy professional yard with lots of people coming and going. It would not therefore suit someone looking for the buzz of a big pro yard.In return, we can offer a happy, fun, supportive family atmosphere with extremely polite horses, a patient employer, and a well-behaved and grateful jockey. You will not be expected to work ludicrous hours or be taken for granted.Rural yard in a lovely village with a pub and a shop but close to civilisation and motorway. We are in the heart of eventing country near Badminton, and we have plenty of events and training facilities close by. Accommodation if required in a comfortable one-bed cottage on site. Space for own horse and well-behaved dog. Extra cash opportunities for house sitting and babysitting. Excellent salary. 28 days holiday.
