County Fair, a Division of Astral Operations Limited, has this opportunity for a Facilities Supervisor (Department Head) in the Services Dept. at the Primary Processing Plant in Klipheuwel, Cape Town.The purpose of this role is to oversee the Services Team as a services support to the processing operations to ensure compliance with all food safety standards and protocols.The ideal candidate will be responsible for:Oversee and manage Daily Incident investigationsOversee and manage monthly safety equipment checks (firefighting equipment room, fire extinguishers and hydrants, BA sets)Ensure weekly safety compliance walk-throughs and document all findingsScales controlManaging the day-to-day duties of the service team and reportback to senior management as requiredParticipate in monthly safety meetings and ensure updated documentation is available at all timesCommunicate with and plan accordingly with the recycling contractor/s (Rocket trading, Enviroserve)Oversee completion of all service documents (Daily, weekly, monthly)Oversee service team attendanceOversee stock takes (crates, pallets(wood/plastic), lugs and overalls)Daily site inspections related to service department related tasksOversee services department Fork Lift daily checksOversee service department cleaning equipmentEnsure that basket (yellow, orange and lugs) requirements are met for the production week and relevant reports and documentation is updated dailyEnsure that blue pallets requirements are met for the weekOversee and stocktaking of laundry and stock levels of PPE (overalls & boots)Stock control of all chemicals used in the processing plantResponsible for all labour-related issues for change room, canteen, basket, stoep and outside area staff, including ensuring that all positions are managed at all timesDealing with all disciplinary matters appropriately and according to the company's disciplinary codeContinued interaction and communication with senior managementMaintaining and implementing the 20 Keys principles, including Health & Safety within the departmentThe requirements for the position are:Completed Grade 12 or equivalent qualificationProven experience in a Supervisory roleProven experience in large-scale food production and processing environmentStrong administrative, organizational, interpersonal and time management skillsFluent in English and a second official languageHave the ability to cope under pressure and manage staff professionallyBe hardworking, honest and self-motivatedComputer literacy: MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook)Able to work shifts and overtime as required
