The school invites suitably qualified and experienced teachers for the following position: FACILITIES MANAGER / ARTISAN Camps Bay Primary School is looking for a dynamic team player to head up our Facilities Management Team.
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the school's physical environment is safe, functional, and conducive to effective teaching and learning. This role involves managing a team, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. It will also involve hands on work in skilled areas like carpentry, plumbing or electrical work.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day operations of school facilities, including classrooms, offices, sporting facilities and outdoor spaces.Manage and coordinate cleaning, maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, electrical, and structural issues.Supervise and support the facilities team, including janitorial and maintenance staff.Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.Head up safety and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols.Manage budgets and procurement for facilities-related supplies and services.Coordinate with external contractors and service providers.Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.Ensure the school's facilities are secure and manage access control.Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification in Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, or a related field.Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role.Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, and plumbing.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Proficiency in budgeting and financial management.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external stakeholders.Familiarity with South African Health and Safety Regulations.Police clearanceThe school reserves the right not to make an appointment.
