We are seeking a facilitator to support a bright and creative 10-year-old neurodivergent girl.
She is bubbly, caring, and enjoys spending time with her friends.
The ideal candidate should have a background in teaching or be currently studying teaching.
They should be enthusiastic about creating an engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning environment, utilizing multisensory approaches.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative strategies to support learning are essential.

Job Objectives: · Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the learner.
· Attend school with the learner to provide support and scaffolding within her immediate school environment.
· Provide afterschool support by taking her home and guiding her through learning concepts covered during the school day, ensuring she gains a clear and concrete understanding of what was taught.
· Assist her after school with project preparation, studying for exams, organizing her schoolwork, and keeping track of her academic responsibilities, extra murals, and other tasks she needs to remember each week.
· Act as a bridge of communication between the teacher, learner, and parents.
· Assist in breaking down tasks, chunking information as needed, and implementing movement or sensory breaks throughout the day.
· Facilitate her understanding and provide instruction to support her academic learning across social, structured, and unstructured contexts.
· Encourage and support the development of her executive functioning skills, such as planning, organizing, problem-solving, and asking for help.
· Provide support and scaffolding to reduce uncertainties and alleviate possible anxiety, while proactively identifying and addressing potential triggers.
· Design and prepare visual resources, as well as plan ahead to support her learning activities and educational goals.
· Collaborate with the existing multi-disciplinary team, including her parents, to ensure cohesive and effective support.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 Salary: R18,000 This is a contract position for a single school term, starting on 9 January and ending on 14 March 2025.

Driver's license and own reliable car – Essential.
Job Related work experience: Previous working experience in a schooling environment/facilitating role – Essential.
Previous experience in teaching or tutoring children with diverse learning needs – Essential.
Previous experience working with autistic children – Essential.
Job Related Qualifications: Degree in Foundation Phase Teaching or an equivalent qualification or currently a student– Desirable.
Additional training in inclusive education – Desirable.
Job Related Knowledge: Familiarity and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) – Essential.
