An Independent, Christian day school situated in Melrose, Johannesburg. Kingsmead provides an excellent, holistic education to girls from Grade 000 to Matric.Kingsmead College seeks to employ a full-time, experienced, dynamic and progressive education and language specialist.
The Junior School seeks to employ a dynamic educator who will provide inclusive, creative and engaging learning experiences which recognises a variety of learning styles in educating the future-focused student. This educator must have a firm knowledge and passion for Sesotho, as well as language development, acquisition, and enrichment. The Junior School Sesotho Teacher will ensure that the language development of the students from Grade 0-7 is prioritised, and be responsible for the implementation and provision of a rigorous and innovative FAL Sesotho curriculum. The successful candidate will co-collaborate with a team of FAL educators to enrich the FAL language department and offering. We are looking for someone who is energetic and passionate about their field, who can be collaborative and innovative.
The requirements are as follows: A suitable professional qualification and proven track record as a highly skilled Sesotho educator.Preferably be a Sesotho mother-tongue speaker.Appropriate educational experience in Language Development and Language Acquisition.Teaching qualification and registration with SACE.Knowledge of and preferably 3-5 years' experience in an inclusive education environment at a primary school level.Experience in classroom teaching, being able to teach at both a Junior Primary and Senior Primary level.An innovative and inclusive approach for teaching girls. Expertise in the development and application of differentiated curriculum.Experience in working together with all stakeholders, including parents, staff, students, therapists and neighbouring schools.A comprehensive understanding of cognitive education and the thinking skills embedded in the Kingsmead curriculum.A willingness to research and apply best practice with regard to differentiation, inclusion and girls' education.Experience in cross-curricular teaching and inquiry-based learning.An ability to work as part of multidisciplinary, educational support teams.A willingness to work together with class teachers in the implementation of differentiated curriculum.Excellent intrapersonal, communication and administrative skills.If you meet the above criteria, please email a curriculum vitae with two contactable referees to Mrs S Pretorius at ****** and state in the subject line JUNIOR SCHOOL SESOTHO TEACHER by no later than 3 May 2024.
