Job Summary Ensure Absa's payment systems are compliant, secure, and fit for purpose within the interbank environment. Oversee regulatory landscapes, implement governance frameworks, and ensure adherence to industry standards. Foster innovation to improve efficiency, security, and customer experience. Align regulatory compliance with business objectives, identify growth opportunities, and promote innovative payment solutions, positioning Absa as a leader in the payments sector.
Job Description Strategy Formulation and Execution:
Develop and implement strategic frameworks that align with Everyday banking's vision and objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to execute strategies that enhance competitive positioning and operational effectiveness.
Customer Primacy:
Embed a customer-centric approach within strategic initiatives, ensuring that insights and research inform product and service offerings.
Sustainable Growth:
Identify and leverage opportunities for sustainable growth through rigorous market analysis and strategic foresight. Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
Client-Driven Innovation and Change:
Foster a culture of innovation by championing initiatives that respond to client needs and market dynamics. Encourage collaboration across teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance service delivery.
Leading Talent:
Build and lead a high-performing team focused on strategy, research, and insights. Implement talent development programs to nurture skills in strategic payment thinking, payment regulation, research methodologies, and payment industry data analysis.
Operational Effectiveness:
Optimize research and insight processes to improve efficiency and the quality of payment outputs. Establish payment performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and make necessary adjustments.
Digital Adoption:
Drive the adoption of payment digital tools and technologies that enhance research capabilities and data analysis. Promote a culture of digital innovation within the team to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
Good Governance, Risk, and Compliance:
Ensure that all payment research and strategic initiatives comply with governance frameworks and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with risk management teams to assess potential risks associated with strategic decisions.
Data Monetization:
Identify payment opportunities for monetizing research and insights, developing new revenue streams through data-driven products and services. Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of data monetization efforts with overall everyday business goals.
Education Bachelor's Degree: Business, Commerce and Management Studies
