Executive Project Manager

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Responsible for day-to-day management of capital investment type projects within a matrix organization.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Lead the team of approx. 10 project managers for all capital investment and plant engineering project portfolio.Manage designated project portfolio with regards to schedule, cost, and scope with a focus on maintaining accountability throughout the project portfolio for funds allocation, schedule, and scope changes.Drive decision-making to ensure the projects move forward, minimizing delays and setbacks.Keep project stakeholders informed on progress and aligned throughout the course of the projects providing timely communication to stakeholders.Monitor and ensure adherence to legal requirements, policies, procedures, and other company standards to ensure safe project execution.Support in the development of systems and maintain records that provide for the proper evaluation, control, and documentation of projects.Perform financial analysis, including the preparation of project budgets.Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.Coach and mentor Project Managers.Compile inputs for the subsequent annual budgets.Take part in the strategic planning of Capital Project annual portfolio.Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Project Management function at the company.POST REQUIREMENTS:Minimum B-Eng./B-Tech Project Management or relevant NQF 7 equivalent qualification.At least 7 years extensive Project Management experience and 5 years on portfolio management level.An engineering or technical background will be an added advantage.PMP Certification or relevant Project Management Qualification will be an added advantage.Excellent knowledge of MS Projects and MS Project server.Computer literate (Word, Excel, MS Projects & PowerPoint).Excellent communication, planning, organizing, and presentation skills (verbal & written).Good interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict management skills.Highly organized, self-motivated, and attention to detail.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionProject Management and Information TechnologyIndustriesManufacturing
